About

One of the last surviving country estates in London; Osterley is a spectacular mansion surrounded by gardens, park and farmland.

Created in the late 18th Century by Robert Adam for the Child family to entertain and impress their friends and clients; this 'palace of palaces' remains as impressive today.

Explore the classical grandeur of the Entrance Hall to the contrasting working environment of the servants quarters. Outside, the gardens have been restored to their 18th Century glory offering a delightful retreat from urban life, perfect for picnics and leisurely strolls.

Road Directions

On A4 between Hammersmith and Hounslow. Follow brown tourist signs on A4 between Gillette Corner and Osterley underground station; M4, exit 3 then follow A312/A4 towards central London. Main gates at junction with Thornbury and Jersey Roads. (Sat Nav users please enter TW7 4RD for postcode)

Public Transport Directions

Train: Isleworth. From the North side of the station, go West along London Road (A315) to a road junction adjacent to a fire station. Bear right along Spring Grove Road, then take the second right into Thornbury Road. Continue across the A4, and Osterley Park is directly ahead. The distance from this station is about 1.5 miles.

 

The underground station is called Osterley. Alight at Osterley station and turn left outside. Turn left into Thornbury Road, and the entrance to the park is straight ahead. The distance to the park is about half a mile, and the walk to the House takes about twenty minutes from the station.

 

By bus, use the H28 Bulls Bridge-Osterley or H91 Hounslow-Hammersmith services. For further information visit www.tfl.gov.uk
