A century on and we are still commemorating
a war that has shaped world happenings ever
since, inspiring much evocative music and
poetry. Well known poems by Rupert Brooke,
Wilfred Owen and not so well known poems
written by local poets will be read by actors
Madeline Smith, Robert Gillespie, Sara Burn
Edwards and others including two local poets,
Bob Sheed and Greg Freeman. The experience
of women in the war, the aftermath and echoes
of war are themes that will be embraced.
