Details

Over the years Richmond has had a large number of public houses. Some are still fondly remembered, others now almost forgotten. A wide range of historic pubs remains to delight us today. The town also once had its own breweries. Richard’s talk will cover a selection of the most interesting, and includes many illustrations of pubs past and present.

Richard Holmes was brought up in Ham and in the past has served as Heritage Officer for the London Borough of Wandsworth, and Archivist for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. He has written four books on the history of local pubs and breweries, covering an area from Kew to Epsom.
