Whilst seeking a permanent venue, the EEL PIE ISLAND MUSEUM will be popping up this summer upstairs at Twickenham Library from early June until the end of October.
Come and see what has made this little island so famous, the part it played in the British Blues Explosion of the 1960’s and how it helped superstars such as THE ROLLING STONES, ERIC CLAPTON & ROD STEWART kick start their musical careers… Discover the diverse range of musical heritage embraced on Eel Pie Island from TRAD JAZZ right through to the beginnings of HEAVY METAL. Learn about the ground-breaking social work carried out by ARTHUR CHISNALL, the history of the boatyards and how resident inventor TREVOR BAYLIS rose to fame with his clockwork radios.
