About

Set between Teddington and Twickenham in West London, Strawberry Hill offers a quiet friendly environment in which to play golf on a challenging 9 hole course and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Clubhouse. SHGC is ideally situated for the motorway network, trains from London and is close to Heathrow Airport. We also have a very well stocked Professional Shop.

Golf at Strawberry Hill
Strawberry Hill is 112 years old. It was designed by, J H Taylor, one of the giants of golf in the 20th century. Among his other achievements, he won the Open Championship five times, formed the PGA, and designed Royal Birkdale, still a regular Open venue. Our course has remained largely unchanged since it was first laid down and it still bears the familiar hallmarks of Taylor’s courses, including the small humps on several holes which look harmless and yet seem to come into play far too often. Strawberry Hill is very tight, has smallish fast greens, most of which are well protected by bunkers, and remains a great challenge for golfers of all abilities. It may only be 9 holes and reputedly one of the shortest courses in the south east, but with three par 3’s of 220 yards plus, and some tricky par 4’s, it is no push-over and is definitely a course that any golfer should experience. J H Taylor would be proud of the way his 9-hole gem has withstood both the test of time and the advances in golf technology, and it remains a testimony to his skill as a great course designer.
