Don your crowns and join Emmy winning writer Andy Riley to discover the key elements of the insanely funny King Flashypants – intriguing settings complete with ‘weird meadows’, a brave but chocolate-obsessed child hero, and a villain who comes equipped with his very own marching band. Challenge author and illustrator Andy Riley to draw anything at all before taking part in a spine-tingling evil laughing contest FOO HOO HOO!!

Andy Riley is an award-winning scriptwriter, cartoonist and children’s author. His books have sold around 1.5 million copies and have been published in more than fifteen countries across the world. Andy was educated at Aylesbury Grammar School, where he met his friend and comedy writing partner, Kevin Cecil. Together they created a number of successful sitcoms, winning a BAFTA award in 2000, and an Emmy in 2015. The pair have also worked together on the series Little Britain starring Matt Lucas and David Walliams and adapted two of David’s books for television, Gangsta Granny and The Boy in the Dress as well as the hit film Gnomeo and Juliet.

As a children’s author, Andy is the writer and illustrator of the hilarious King Flashypants series, the first book of which was published in 2016. The series features a nine- year old king who rules over the country of Edwinland, giving out free chocolates to everyone in the kingdom every Friday. The books have received glowing reviews, including one from David Walliams who describes the first book in the series as ‘Brilliantly original and hilarious … it’s nearly as good as one of my books’
