Singing Cactus – Mark Newnham and Tom Fox Connor

Including Howard Goodall new commission (premiere)

Barnes Community Choir has been a regular feature of the Barnes Music Festival since its inception, having been formed in 2011. The choir is for singers of all ages and backgrounds who share a love of song and an enthusiasm for making music together. Music Director Joe Bunker says “This choir is based on inclusivity and accessibility; the results we achieve are amazing!”

The choir celebrates this decade of making music in the local community by performing an array of life-affirming songs from multiple genres - including folk, pop, musical theatre, and sacred music. They also perform a new work by Howard Goodall, specially written for the occasion.

They are joined by Mark Newnham and Tom Fox Connor (Singing Cactus) who met 10 years ago playing Lennon and McCartney on stage in Liverpool. For this concert they play pop hits from the 60s to the present day, by the Beatles and many others.
