Hand made card with champagne glass

Join experienced tutor Gill Smith for a fascinating morning learning how to make beautiful handmade cards using a combination of paper cutting and variations on the technique of iris folding.

Iris folding is a simple, but utterly addictive, technique that uses strips of folded papers to form intriguing designs within a card aperture.

In this relaxing Friday morning session on the lovely terrace at The Anglers, right by the River Thames, you'll be taught how to make two unique greetings cards to treasure.

We'll provide all the materials and tools for you to use during the workshop, though if you do have your own scalpel (with fresh blade) and cutting mat, you might like to bring them along to use.

Tea, coffee or a soft drink are also included.

At the end of the session, you'll leave with your beautiful handmade cards, together with all the know how to make more at home.

Gill Smith is a local artist, printmaker, paper cutter and bookmaker. She has an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Arts, UAL.
