This year’s programme also includes young musicians from charities and local community projects as well as local bands recording music and gigging in our area. So grab yourself a cold drink, head to the stage and enjoy the music!
Headline Act: Errol Linton
This award-winning Brixton born singer-songwriter has been described as 'the finest blues and reggae harmonica player in Europe'. Errol's 30 years on the
London underground blues scene finds him playing solo at Oxford Circus as well as appearing at major festivals such Glastonbury this year and on European tour dates with his exceptional band. His shows are legendary, expect to dance!
Walking the Dog
WALKING THE DOG are based in Twickenham, in the heart of the Thames Delta. Their music comes from a time when young people rode around on Vespa scooters, wore Ben Sherman shirts and M51 parkas and danced their socks off on Eel Pie Island. It is a floor filling mix of R&B, Blues and Soul inspired by the likes of James Brown, the Temptations and Booker T and the MGs, an echo of good times when Mars Bars cost 6p each and Otis Redding was Number 1 in the charts!
The Horntown Project
The Horntown Project was formed from South West London musicians during lockdown as a way to keep playing and experimenting with some fresh cover versions. All recordings and YouTube were created remotely and put together by the band's creative genius David Shepherd. Following the lifting of restrictions, the band got together physically to rehearse and create even more music and we are now taking this project out on the road to bring it to our local audience.
David Anstruther's Band
David has been playing in the area for 20 years and finally recorded an album of his own songs, ‘Vendetta’, which was released in late 2021 with a sell-out local gig and has since become the best-selling album by a local artist, ever, in Eel Pie Records. He wrote, sang, played & produced everything himself but today he enjoys a full band… Please Like his page on Facebook.. His 2nd album ‘Living Proof’ arrives in Autumn 2022.
Funky Nature
Funky Nature has been slowly gigging its way across London and the surrounding area. With sprinklings of the Stone roses and aromas of Jamie Woon, the style strolls along doffing its proverbial cap to the plethora of his musical influences from rock to rap, ska to salsa.
Powerjam Band 'Nobody for President'
Nobody For President is a soulful teen rock band that rehearses weekly at Powerjam, the Twickenham-based not-for-profit band project for 9-18 year old musicians. The band is performing at the first-ever International Teen Rock Festival in New York City this summer after Powerjam was selected to have its bands represent the UK. Nobody For President has 4 singles released through Powerjam Recordings, a label that allows young musicians to retain full copyrights of their songs.
Groove Academy
Hailing from Hampton this young newly formed band come from the Groove Academy stable, an award winning organisation helping young people learn music and gain performance opportunities while building their own community of likeminded people.
The Molotovs
Emerging Post-Punk-Pop trio The Molotovs have never failed to entertain with their blistering sets played across the London and surrounding circuit. Fresh from supporting The Libertines on their UK tour, the band has a promising and exciting year ahead. Expect clean, sharp and raw originals and nothing left in the dressing room from their high energy performance.
Sonic Daze
Meet Sonic Daze, a young, fresh electronic music band from West London. Their original vibe and energetic stage presence combine enigmatic rap with catchy choruses and ethereal vocals. Sonic Daze is a collaboration between BRIT school students Archie Elliot (rapper, producer, and writer), and Rosie Trentham (singer-songwriter). The pair has been working on several singles to be released soon.
