Singer, songwriter 'Purdy' Is back at the Bull by popular demand together with her outstanding musicians, Hugh Turner on guitar, Stu Henderson on trumpet & percussion and Raph Mizraki on double bass, tuba and cello, no less! These multi-talented players thrive in each other’s company while performing a feast of Purdy's heart felt, catchy pop/jazz original songs together with some well-loved jazz covers. Purdy has toured with Jools Holland and won over huge audiences at the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Stadium. Her unique singing style is often referred to as ‘pop noir with a playful jazz twist’ whilst her sultry vocals and songwriting skills have led to collaborations with Jamiroquai’s Matt Johnson and Ian Barter (Amy Winehouse). With nuances of Nina Simone, Nancy Sinatra & Peggy Lee, Purdy offers playful swagger together with a hugely entertaining onstage appeal for this special show. This is a great chance to see this much-talked about artist who has performed to 90,000 at Wembley, guested on the Royal Variety Show and sung with Jamie Cullum, in the intimate surrounds of the Jazz Room at the legendary Bull’s Head. “A consummate artist, old soul, young heart, witty and alluring ……” Time Out.
