The choir will sing several carols from the 16th and 17th centuries including ‘King Jesus hath a Garden’ from The Netherlands, the ‘Lute Book Lullaby’, originally a solo song with lute accompaniment from a collection by the lutenist William Ballet, ‘ Once as I remember’ a rare and beautiful carol first published in 1689 in Italy and ‘All My Heart’ which was written at the church of St Nicolai in Berlin by Ebeling and Gerhardt in the 1660s. There will be other carols from around the world and from different periods.


The music will be interspersed with some poetry and readings as well as giving the audience the opportunity to join in the singing of some of the more well known carols in the lead up to Christmas.

The choir will be accompanied by Andrew Wells and conducted by Rupert Gill.
