BHM Saluting our sisters 2023

About

This event is organised by Richmond Council to commemorate Black History Month with an exciting panel of medical professionals and musical entertainment.

This year’s theme is 'Saluting Our Sisters’, highlighting the crucial role that black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change, and building communities. Black History Month will also acknowledge the lives and stories of Black Britons who were living in the UK before the arrival of Empire Windrush 1948.

There will be contributions from medical professionals who will deliver talks on the theme. This year will also see a wide range of health and wellbeing stallholders at the event, who will be available to share information and advice on their services in the borough.

The event will include stalls from The Mulberry Centre, Healthwatch Richmond, Sickle Cell Society and more.

FREE FOOD & ENTERTAINMENT

This year, we will have special musical performances from the Richmond Music Trust and a Gambian Drumming group.

There will also be free refreshments and Afro-Caribbean food available at the event.
