More than 300,000 water plants and 27,000 trees and shrubs were planted by hand during the construction of London Wetland Centre. Each wetland habitat was designed to attract certain species: wet grassland for snipe and redshank; seasonally flooded marshes for gadwall and shoveler; and reed beds for bitterns and water rail. Come on this walk with a warden and learn more about these different habitats and the work that goes into managing them. Plus, along the way you’ll discover more about the seasonal wildlife on the reserve.
