The use of environmental and botanical data in forensic science has a long history dating to at least the early 20th Century. Participants will learn about the ways in which vegetation and other forms of environmental evidence can be used to help understand criminal activity.

They will also practice some basic investigatory skills that may be used at a crime scene. Please note, some aspects of this course may be challenging to some participants as it will be necessary to discuss scenarios involving the ecology of the decomposition of human remains.
