This year the Barnes Community Choir is thrilled to be sharing the Community Evening with the wonderful Sofia Kirwan Baez. The choir will be singing a new and eclectic programme with songs sung and/or composed by some of the greatest music legends. Sofia will intersperse the choir’s programme with songs from pop, cabaret and opera, displaying her incredible versatility.

The Barnes Community Choir is a diverse group of 50 singers from the local area who enjoy making music together every Thursday evening and giving performances locally such as at the Lyric Theatre and at the Actors Church, Covent Garden. They are extremely fortunate to have been led this year by several inspirational Musical Directors.

Anglo-Venezuelan soprano Sofia Kirwan-Baez is a rising star in the opera world being a Kathleen Ferrier semi-finalist, a Josephine Baker Trust artist, and a National Opera Studio Young Artist. Sofia is also a regular performer at the OSO Arts Centre in Barnes where she hosts and performs her popular piano lounge evenings.
