Throughout the year Richmond upon Thames hosts a variety of performances and shows at the different theatres across the borough.

Enjoy a wide range of entertainment at any of the theatres, there’s: musicals, opera, dance, family entertainment, comedy, dramas and so much more.

Richmond is home to the iconic Richmond Theatre, one of the oldest surviving theatres designed by iconic architect Frank Matcham. Built in 1899 and London’s only theatre with no restricted view. Shows at Richmond Theatre are always an amazing experience that’s why it is one of the most successful theatres in the country receiving around a quarter of a million visitors a year.

If you prefer a more intimate feel perhaps a show at Orange Tree Theatre might be for you. The award-winning independent theatre create high quality productions of new and rediscovered plays. Orange Tree Theatre is also London’s only permanent Theatre in the round.

The Exchange is a newly built venue with a 300 seat theatre, they support local talent as well as the local university St Marys. Here you can enjoy comedy, film, performances for children and musical events.

Hampton Hill Theatre was purpose-built for Teddington Theatre Club and opened in 1998. There are two theatre spaces - a main 197 seat auditorium and a smaller Noel Coward Studio that can accommodate up to 50 for a production.

OSO Arts Centre is a professional fringe Theatre, each week they have new works of theatre, music and comedy in their flexible auditorium seating up to 130. They provide a space in South-West London for people to enjoy and engage with the arts, through high-quality evening shows and daytime dance, painting and drama classes.
