About

53 Grimwood Road's glasshouse and outdoor space has been an unused site for far too long. Habitats & Heritage have a vision to transform it into a place of action for nature and a hub to support our community. To achieve this vision, we need the help of volunteers. We anticipate help with exciting biodiversity boosting projects (like improving the secret pond we discovered just last week) to general gardening maintenance for the site.
For now, we have set up volunteering sessions on the first Tuesday of every month from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by a bring-your-own-lunch picnic and refreshments provided by us.
The first session will be on: Tuesday November 4th, 10 AM - 12 PM.
If you are interested in being part of this new phase of Grimwood Road, please register as a volunteer and sign up on our online platform using this link: https://habitatsandheritage.teamkinetic.co.uk/volunteers/opportunity/10260506. Then, if you are available, you can book your slot for the first session here.
Perks and Benefits
As much tea or coffee as you can drink, biscuits, and a great experience!

Skills You'll Need
Willingness to be outdoors in different weathers, comfort with different levels of physical activity like bending, and using gardening tools (we are more than happy to accommodate different ability levels).
We understand that these hours may not work for everyone. If you have work, school, or caring commitments that prevent you from coming on the first Tuesday of every month please let us know by contacting me at Aanchal@habitatsandheritage.org.uk

With your generous time, we hope to create a well‑tended home for nature and people.
