About
In this talk historical novelist Kerry Barrett will chat about her two books based on the female gardeners at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew during the two world wars. From the (somewhat questionable) actions of the suffragettes, to the fight for equal pay with men, to Dig for Victory and the work of the Vegetable Drugs Committee, there’s a lot to talk about!
Kerry Barrett, who also publishes under the pen name Posy Lovell, has been writing novels for a decade exploring her passion for women’s history. Her stories span timeframes and locations from 17th century Scotland to 1960s London and tell tales of witch hunts, smugglers, suffragettes, pilots, munitionettes, artists and GI brides.
