About

For over 400 years Richmond Green has been surrounded by houses and commercial properties, first built to provide accommodation for people serving or visiting Richmond Palace. Unfortunately only parts of Richmond Palace still exist however, with classic Georgian and Victorian properties and a Victorian Theatre as a backdrop, it is a very popular location for productions to film.

TV dramas such as Poirot, and more recently Grantchester and New Tricks have visited the Green to film. Richmond Theatre and Richmond Green has also played host to the BAFTA tribute to the Downton Abbey cast.

Granchester
A British TV drama set in Cambridgeshire and adapted from a book series by James Runcie. Clergyman Sidney Chambers investigates some mysterious wrongdoings in his small village of Grantchester. Richmond Green was used as a backdrop for an episode.

New Tricks
New Tricks is a British TV drama about three retired police officers who are drafted in to solve cold cases. They filmed scenes around Richmond Green.

Poirot
Hercules Poirot, a fictional Belgian detective created by Agatha Christie, has visited Richmond quite a few times over the years. See the photo where he is strolling along by The Green in Richmond.
