Geoff Stocker

About

From 24th May to 6th June, experience Geoff Stocker's exhibition YUKARTA.

A collection made in silk rather than the usual heavy cotton of a simple non-ceremonious kimono, or 'Yukata', allowing for a deeper tonal depth and rich colour saturation. Stocker regularly works with silk, being his fabric of choice over the past 15 years.

"My surface pattern designs are all created on computer with Photoshop, which I have been using as my primary art and design medium for the past 30 years. The techniques I use involve a combination of drawing, painting, layering and blended collage. The resulting designs are then digitally printed onto lightweight silks.
While several of the yukata form part of a short series of variations on a theme, as in the 'Samarkand' and 'Carpathian' designs, they are all unique pieces." – Geoff Stocker.
