Carmel

About

Carmel is the vision of interior designer Julie Brownson and her passion for creating spaces with meaning: where craftsmanship, connection and story come to life. Located in Barnes, south-west London, Carmel is a place to explore, to slow down, and to appreciate the beauty of well-made things.

Our collections celebrate the everyday: the quiet satisfaction of a perfectly placed object, the joy of a laidback gathering around a table, the comfort of a carefully designed corner of a room, with each item designed to connect you to the moments and places that matter.

In surrounding yourself with objects that feel just right.

Inspired by the effortless charm of the US West Coast, Carmel invites you to embrace a more considered way of living, where every piece has purpose.

Inside Carmel, you’ll find natural materials, clean lines, and a curated selection of home accessories, furniture, textiles and more. Thoughtfully crafted and designed to last, each item is chosen for the way it feels, functions, and fits into your world.

JULIE BROWNSON

Founder & Creative Director

Julie is the creative force behind Carmel, bringing a global design perspective and a deep appreciation for authentic, well-crafted objects.

Julie’s inspiration is rooted in the landscapes of the American West: road trips along the coast, through the desert, and into the national parks. But it is the coastal village of Carmel, California - with its historic charm, understated beauty and sense of community - that has had the greatest impact on her vision.

She created Carmel as a reflection of these travels: a place that is welcoming, tactile and inspiring. Somewhere people can touch, feel, explore, and ultimately discover objects that bring comfort, curiosity and joy into their homes.
