Details

Eel Pie Island in central Twickenham - from rock royalty to French nobility, artisan boat builders to self-taught inventors, colourful entrepreneurs to famous authors, all have at some point found themselves on this tiny island. Discover Eel Pie's past and present on this hour-long, fully illustrated guided walk along Twickenham's riverside village Embankment, overlooking the island. Also included is admission to the Eel Pie Island Museum, just a couple of minutes' walk from Twickenham's riverside. This award-winning museum celebrates all that has made the island so famous - from its boatyard heritage that continues to this day to the part the Eel Pie Hotel played in the British Blues explosion of 1960s, launching the careers of such superstars as The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Rod Stewart.
