Beuys' Acorns Oak Circle

About

An art project by Ackroyd & Harvey and a hub space.
On the spring solstice of 2025, a circle of seven oak trees was planted on Hampton Common as part of an art project by Ackroyd & Harvey, inspired by Joseph Beuys's 7000 Oaks. In 2007, the artists collected acorns from Beuys's work in Kassel, Germany, where Beuys planted 7,000 oak trees to inspire global environmental action.

The artists have nurtured these acorns into young trees, and now they are planting circles of seven trees in urban spaces. Hampton Common, supported by The London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames and Friends of Hampton Common, is the latest site for this initiative.
A Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival Event.
