About

Get creative and dive into festive fun at our hands-on workshop in the heart of our tranquil wetland centre.

Join Ecologist Connor Butler for a hands-on cyanotype printmaking workshop with a seasonal twist.

Developed in the 1840s, cyanotype is a photographic process that uses UV light to create striking blue-and-white prints. By arranging winter-themed plants onto light-sensitive paper, you'll craft your own unique botanical artworks to take home, turn into Christmas cards, or give as handmade gifts.

As you work, you will learn about the ecology of these plants and hear some of the stories and traditions linked to them. This workshop is a relaxed and creative way to celebrate the season.

Suitable for: Ages 16+

Connor the Ecologist is a London-based entomologist and educator on a mission to make people notice and appreciate the smaller details in nature. His current work focuses on Queer Ecology, challenging traditional ideas about what is considered "natural" or "unnatural". He has had over 1,000 people join his Queer Ecology tours and workshops to date, celebrating nature in all its diversity.
