Sewing up a knitted garment

About

Love knitting but feel frustrated that your work lacks that professional finish? Then come along to our popular knitting session with expert knitter and teacher Suzanne Strachan.

This workshop will teach you a range of invaluable seaming techniques and how to block your work.

The class is suitable for anyone with a basic level of knitting ability and numbers are kept low to ensure that everyone has lots of individual support from Suzanne.

Please prepare and bring with you 5 x 10cm square swatches using a smooth double knit yarn – 3 in stocking stitch (right side row all knit stitches, wrong side row all purl stitches), and 2 in garter stitch (all rows in knit stitch). Please also bring a ball of double knit yarn, a pair of 4mm needles (straight or circular) and a sewing up needle.

We'll provide tea, coffee and homemade cake to help your concentration!

The workshop will be led by expert knitter, designer and yarn consultant, Suzanne Strachan.

'fantastic course, very well taught – will certainly be signing up for other courses'
