Calligraphy pen and handwriting

About

Why not join us for a mindful and creative Sunday morning, learning the basics of modern pointed pen calligraphy over coffee and cake?

This two hour workshop, led by professional calligrapher Claire Coppard, is a perfect introduction to the art of writing beautiful letters using a nib and ink.

After showing you how to prepare the nib and hold the pointed pen, Claire will demonstrate how letters are formed and work through the alphabet with you, allowing lots of time to practise the different letters. You'll then move on to how to connect letters and form words, ending the class by putting your new skills to use by writing your own gift tags.

The class is suitable for both total beginners and also as a follow on for people who've attended our brush pen calligraphy classes and want to learn more.

All materials and refreshments are included, and you'll have a full starter kit to take home with you, including your own pen holder, Nikko G nib and pot of black sumi ink, together with a selection of gift tags, so that you can continue your practice at home.

"friendly and warm approach. I really enjoyed the paced information as we progressed"

"so relaxing and Claire was fab"
