School’s out for summer! Experience a doodletastic day of fun inspired by the global bestselling Tom Gates book and TV series by Liz Pichon.  

Create, roam and play in an activity hub bursting with mischief, makes and plenty of laughs — all inspired by the adventures of Tom Gates and his delightfully zany friends and family.  

Children can choose their own adventure as they journey through hands-on crafting activities, a giant interactive doodle wall, an epic live musical performance by Tom’s band DogZombies, and a code-cracking tree trail woven through woodland paths.  

Don’t forget to pick up an activity guide, which includes a handy map of the locations on the ‘Totally Terrific Tree Trail’ and more crafty activities to get stuck into at home. 

Whether you enjoy hands-on art-making, love solving puzzles in the great outdoors, or want to rock out to DogZombies live, escape into a fun-filled summer day out for all the family whatever your age.

Overview of activities

DogZombies Live on Stage!

• Inspired by the Tom Gates EPIC Stage Show, rock out with Tom and his friends as the DogZombies band bring the energy with catchy songs and interactive fun for the whole family, in this exclusive 20-minute live performance.
• Daily performance times: 10.30am, 1.00pm and 4.00pm

Super Make and Do Craft Tent

• Get stuck into hands-on crafting workshops inspired by the bold illustrative style of Tom Gates’ and beauty of nature at Kew. Overseen by Kew teachers, these sessions are perfect for young creators who want to make something special to take home.
• Daily drop-in session times: 10.00am - 12.30pm, 1.30pm - 4.30pm

Mega Doodle Wall

• Grab some markers and let your imagination run wild! Add your own drawings, colour in giant illustrations and spot hidden details in this ever-growing collaborative artwork.
• This activity runs throughout the day.

Totally Terrific Trees Trail

• Set off on a self-guided adventure and explore woodland paths to find five trees, uncover fun facts and collect symbols to crack a secret code—then solve the final puzzle to earn your reward!
