About
A major initiative for 2026 at Turner's House is underway with the seeds started to be sewn this year. Part one had been the immaculate restoration of the house but part two, is creating the look and feel of a house in which J M W Turner is once again 'present'. Is atmosphere more important than accuracy? What are the threads that can be pulled together to create the feeling that he has just popped out to do a bit of fishing on the Thames and will be back shortly? How can objects be used to do this and what other means are available to enrich the visitor experience? What were the house museums that inspired us and how do you give a building and a brand a personality? In this talk Lucy Littlewood, the Chair of Turner's House Trust, will explain the journey upon which we have embarked and how we are bringing Turner back to
Sandycombe Lodge.
