Cartographies of Touch – Body, Matter, and Writing

About

This workshop invites participants to explore writing through movement, touch and sensory awareness. Combining guided writing exercises with simple embodied practices, the workshop encourages language to emerge from physical experience rather than pre-planned ideas. Participants will experiment with attention, presence and perception, discovering new ways to connect body, material and text.
Open to artists, educators and anyone curious about body-based creative practices, the session offers a supportive and exploratory environment for creative expression. Through movement, reflection and writing, participants will develop a more intuitive and sensory approach to language and storytelling.
Materials Provided: All materials provided.
Materials Required: Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for free movement. Notebook and pencil
Optional: Water bottle, Yoga mat
Tutor Bio: Paloma Durante is a Brazilian artist, writer, and educator working at the intersection of art and pedagogy. Her practice explores embodied and participatory learning through performance, somatic research, and experimental writing. She develops workshops and laboratories that invite participants to engage with the body as a site of knowledge, focusing on touch, movement, perception, and collective experience. Her work has been presented internationally through residencies and independent projects in Brazil and the UK, creating spaces for creative inquiry, shared learning, and sensory-based artistic exploration.
