About

Explore drawing in motion through this dynamic gesture drawing workshop. Focusing on the moving figure, participants will develop a range of approaches to capturing flow, structure and energy. Through both fast and sustained exercises, the course introduces techniques such as line, massing and blocking to respond to constant movement. Working from live musicians, you will learn how to adapt your drawing style to changing subjects, balancing observation with expressive mark-making.
Suitable for those with some drawing experience, this workshop builds confidence in drawing people in action and encourages a more fluid, responsive approach to the figure.
This workshop takes place alongside the Landmark's Summer Music programme, offering participants the opportunity to draw and respond creatively to live music performed by talented musicians. Participants may attend one of two sessions within the programme: Tuesday 18 August (Summer Music: Concert Band) or Thursday 20 August (Summer Music: Strings).
Materials Provided: Drawing boards will be provided.
Materials Required: Sketchbook (recommend A4), coloured pencils, pastel pencils, biro, drawing pens, conte crayons, pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, bulldog clips, optional additional drawing materials.
