Material World After Hours

About

Material World After Hours transforms Kew’s iconic Temperate House into a vibrant after-dark experience.

Explore the past, present and future of our relationship with nature through fashion, music and making.

In the Central Diamond, encounter mesmerising dance performances featuring three bespoke costumes by Jessie Von Curry that explore the past, present and future of our relationship with nature. Also catch live DJ sets by Luvandula and Friends bringing vibrant boogie vibes to the Temperate House.

In the Pavilion, discover poetry readings led by Michael McMillan, sustainable styling with Roberta Lee, talks from Kew Science and an artisan market.

Get hands-on in the Davies Exploration House with participatory workshops in natural dyeing, bio-sequin making and seaweed weaving led by textile artists. Refuel with low-waste botanical food and drink offerings and soak up the atmosphere under curated lighting and lush foliage.

Whether you come to create, connect or dance, this is a night for style-conscious changemakers and curious minds alike.

All performances and talks are included in the ticket price. Food and drinks sold separately. Suitable for adults (18+) only.
