OKMT Music Marathon 2026

About

We are delighted to be celebrating OKMT's 35th Anniversary by holding our 3rd Music Marathon. We welcome musicians of all ages, abilities and styles to take part and raise sponsorship. We expect performances to last 5- 15 minutes. All money raised will go to OK Music School, where children and young people with additional needs learn to play music, grow in confidence and perform in public. Refreshments will be provided throughout the afternoon.

Please click here to complete an entry form. To find out more and to take part, email Hana at events@okmtrust.org.uk or call 07856 876968

OK Music School was set up 13 years ago by The Otakar Kraus Music Trust to give children and young people with additional needs the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument and perform in public concerts. 80 pupils are currently attending OK Music School where they receive 1-1 specialised teaching with qualified music therapists and music teachers. Pupils gain confidence and self-esteem and feel proud performing in our 4 annual concerts, which bring joy to the community. They gain communication skills and make friends. 28 pupils have even passed a total of 60 music exams.

100% of OK Music School pupils who were able, chose the Happy Smiley to describe Music School, and 90% said they felt proud and confident.

"His confidence has rocketed! It is exciting to see the changes in him now he is having specialist music lessons."

"Our autistic, non-verbal daughter can show the world that she is more than her diagnosis. Her ability to read music and play piano surprises many people and makes her feel valued."
