About

Acting Lab: Devised Theatre is a practical introduction course to devising and theatre making.

You'll develop your performance skills and understanding of theatre-making through improvisation and devising exercises. You'll approach a variety of practitioners' techniques, developing your skills both individually and as part of an ensemble.

Devising Lab provides a space for you to be curious, creative and imaginative, discovering the power of collaboration.

Over the course of six weeks, you will:

Develop your performance and making skills by creating work in a variety of styles
Respond creatively to stimuli to develop new work
Learn how to let go of your inhibitions and make work quickly
Explore exercises and techniques for voice, movement and imagination
Learn how to create character and develop scenes
Devising Lab is open to anyone aged 18+. No previous experience is necessary- just a sense of curiosity!

If you're a theatre-maker or a performer, Acting Lab: Devised Theatre will increase your understanding of how to make your own work and be a skilled collaborator. If you have no previous drama experience, the lab will provide a creative space for you to develop your creativity and confidence whilst connecting with others in a fun and supportive environment.
