The Twickenham Museum

About

House Manager talks on the new display 'JMW Turner and West London' at the Twickenham Museum.
On this special weekend celebrating 65 Years of European partnerships, House Manager Ricky Pound will deliver talks at 11, 12, 1 and 2pm on the new display Joseph Mallord William Turner and West London. Turner lived locally at Brentford, Isleworth, Hammersmith and most notably, Twickenham, where he designed a new villa overlooking the Thames.
On his many travels abroad Turner also painted Konstanz and Fontainebleau.
This year of reaffirmation with our European partners also coincides with the 250th birthday of JMW Turner who told his friends he was born on 23rd April 1775, fortuitously also the birthday of William Shakespeare and St George's Day.
Entry to the Twickenham Museum is free and there is no need to book.
The Twickenham Museum is open between 11 and 3pm with talks on the 7th June at 11, 12, 1 and 2pm.
Ricky Pound is Manager of the Twickenham Museum. Between 2018 and 2021 he was House Director of Turner's House (Sandycombe Lodge) in Twickenham. Previously he has been House Manager of Chiswick House and Marble Hill House (English Heritage). Ricky is also an original Trustee of the London Luminaries.
