For students age 11+:
Explore the Museum’s textile collection, develop new skills and create a mini exhibition of the work.
We will be looking at textiles from the Museum’s collection, exploring their stories and history and using them as inspiration for making their own textile projects, inspired by what the students learn.
Skills will include:
⭐ Patchwork, inspired by a World War Two handmade dress
⭐ Quilting, inspired by the summer exhibition on Community Quilts
⭐ Crochet, inspired by post war textiles
⭐ Beading, inspired by Edwardian Wedding Shoes
⭐ Embroidery inspired by a Georgian Silk Waistcoat
