Battersea Power Station to Richmond Park Bike Tour

About

This isn’t your standard London bike tour. While most rides stick to busy streets and checklist landmarks, ours blends cycling, nature, history, music, and riverside London into one relaxed adventure along the Thames and into Richmond Park.

We begin at the newly restored Battersea Power Station. After a friendly welcome, a short safety briefing, and bottled water to start, we roll out along the Thames Path—keeping to quieter riverside sections wherever possible. Your guide shares how this Art Deco giant went from decades of dereliction to a thriving riverside neighbourhood, and why its landmark chimneys had to be painstakingly rebuilt.

Glide through Battersea Park, a green oasis with lakes, gardens, and riverside calm. As we leave the park and head west towards Putney, the pace lifts with a carefully chosen music playlist played through a portable speaker—adding atmosphere as we pass rowing clubs, boathouses, and the start line of the Oxford–Cambridge Boat Race.

From here, the city falls away and the route opens into Richmond Park—London’s largest Royal Park—where we often see herds of red and fallow deer roaming across open grassland and ancient oak groves. We pause at scenic viewpoints for photos and light storytelling about royal hunts, hidden histories, and local legends.

After exploring the park, we descend into Richmond town centre for free time to buy your own lunch at one of the many pubs, cafés, or bakeries (your guide can recommend options).

Refreshed, we continue the journey by completing a full scenic loop back through Richmond Park, taking a different route across its landscapes before reconnecting with the Thames. From there, we follow the river eastbound, enjoying a smooth and scenic ride back towards Battersea Power Station, completing a full circular route.

Led by a certified British Cycling guide with deep local knowledge, storytelling flair, and a touch of charisma, this tour combines adventure, wildlife, history, and music—making it unlike any other cycling experience in London.
