About
Hop into an authentic London black cab as we follow the Thames to the stunning palace once home to Henry VIII. Ted Lasso fans are in for a surprise! Then it’s off to Windsor Castle, the largest occupied castle in the world and residence of King Charles III. Your tour begins with a pickup anywhere in London, passing through leafy suburbs en route to Hampton Court. We’ll cross the Thames several times for spectacular views. At Hampton Court, your guide will take you around the palace, with an audio guide included in the ticket. The Tudor kitchens of King Henry VIII still operate, and if we’re lucky, we might see a haunch of venison roasting over an open fire. The chapel remains in use, and Henry’s Great Hall is the perfect spot for a royal-themed photo. Feeling brave? Explore the haunted gallery. The grand apartments of William and Mary reflect the optimism of the 1688 “Glorious Revolution.” The formal gardens, designed by King William, continue to charm visitors, as does the Great Vine—the largest in the world. If time allows, we’ll explore the maze, rose gardens, and maybe even catch a game of real tennis. Passing through Runnymede, we’ll recall where King John signed the Magna Carta over 800 years ago, marking the start of constitutional monarchy. Finally, we arrive at Windsor Castle, begun under William the Conqueror and a royal residence for nearly a millennium. St. George’s Chapel is famed for its exquisite fan-vaulted ceiling and is the resting place of many monarchs, including Queen Elizabeth II. The State Apartments boast treasures from the vast Royal Collection. We wrap up with a drive through Eton, home to the prestigious Eton College founded over five centuries ago.
