Music, Sat 28 Mar 2020

An evening of dramatic and emotional choral music: the first half interweaving opulent motets by the 16th century English composer Christopher Tye with pieces by the renowned Estonian Arvo Pärt – settings from St Matthew’s Gospel plus ‘Which was the Son of…’, Pärt’s jazzy list from Genesis of Jesus’s family tree. The second half of the concert returns to the Renaissance – Italy now – with an electrifying double choir masterpiece by Orlando Lassus.
