About

31 words. Two Lives Ruined

John can take or leave social media – until his tweet goes viral. Then the trolls attack. With his pride dented, John seeks revenge, creating an alter-ego that will expose his abusers, with devastating consequences.

As John gets sucked deeper into his darker online world, his life starts to quickly fall apart at the seams.

A rollercoaster ride for anyone who's ever posted online, ADDICT tells the story of the power and perils of social media and the cloak of anonymity it gives to those who spread toxicity and hate – making social media terrifyingly anti-social.

ADDICT premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2024 and was one of six plays awarded a Sit-Up Award grant in recognition for its raising awareness of the harms of social media addiction.

It also received outstanding reviews for both its writing and a "subtly vituosic performance" by CRAIG BARCLAY (The Scotsman).

"Utterly compelling. A must see."

"A gem of new writing."
