About

Join us at Books on the Rise with a local author for a wonderful evening all about Richmond's famous bridge!

We all enjoy Richmond Bridge - but did you know it is 250 years old this year?

Have you ever wondered why, where and how it was built ... and being Richmond of course, all the intrigue and plotting! With fascinating stories about the bridge during the war, how the bridge has evolved throughout history, the tolls and the strange funding method, 'The Tontine' ... a cross between an investment and a lottery!

On Friday May 8th at Books on the Rise, Mark will tell you all about it in an entertaining and highly visual presentation with complimentary bubbles.

It is set to be a fantastic evening all about an iconic feature in Richmond's landscape, perfect for residents and history enthusiasts alike.

Please note that History Society members qualify for concession tickets.
