About

"He kept looking at the child with surprise. I don't think he had ever really believed in its existence before".

F Scott Fitzgerald – "The Great Gatsby"

The quotation refers to the brief moment in the iconic Jazz Age novel when Jay Gatsby comes face to face with Daisy Buchanan's daughter – a moment that trembles with unspoken secrets and sorrow.

Fourteen years after the glittering world of Gatsby crumbles, a new legend rises: Luna Fey. On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, Luna - once Pammy Buchanan - stands at the threshold of destiny. Haunted by whispers of her parentage and the shadows of Gatsby's legacy, she is determined to uncover the truth that has eluded her for so long. The answers are locked away, the witnesses gone, and society's walls seem impenetrable. But Luna is undaunted.

With Down's Syndrome, Luna possesses a vision sharper than the city's brightest lights - a clarity that 1930s New Yorkers refuse to acknowledge, but which will soon shake their world. Her journey is not just a search for identity, but a battle against the prejudices and secrets that threaten to silence her.

Artist in Residence Linnie Reedman transforms Fitzgerald's classic into a bold, female-driven voyage of self-discovery. Through Luna's eyes, pivotal moments from "The Great Gatsby" are reborn, refracted through a unique looking glass. Developed in partnership with a Down's Syndrome actress and forged in eight creative workshops at OSO, this play with music is a celebration of inclusivity, courage, and imagination.

Audiences are invited to step into Luna's world - of words and music, heartbreak and hope - at the premiere, supported by OSO and Arts Council England. Reedman's mastery in reinventing classics promises a night of drama, revelation, and unforgettable storytelling.
