About

Tama Matheson presents a captivating experience of music and the spoken word

Join writer /director Tama Matheson and author Dr Kate Vigurs for a tale of espionage, secrets and courage, presented as part of Barnes BookFest 2025. They review the remarkable story of Nancy Wake, one of the Allies' most formidable spies during World War II. Nicknamed 'the white mouse' for her ability to avoid capture, she was brave, rebellious and on the Gestapo's most wanted list. Dr Kate Vigurs is the author of Mission Europe – a fascinating account of the women recruited to 'set Europe ablaze' by the Special Operations Executive. Marking the 80th Anniversary of VE Day this year, Tama and Kate honour the legacy of Nancy Wake and the women who resisted and disrupted the occupation of Europe - ordinary women who did the most extraordinary things.
