Black History Month Richmond: Our Voices Our Stories

About

Join us for an inspiring evening of conversation, storytelling and connection as we celebrate African-Caribbean voices in Richmond

Our Stories, Our Voices brings together indivduals from Richmond's African & Caribbean community to share the experiences that have shaped who they are today.

Taking place at the Bingham Riverhouse Hotel - the UK's only black-female owned hotel and members club, the event will celebrate community, culture, identity and belonging.

Hosted by entrepreneur, author and PR expert Jessica Huie MBE, the evening will feature a panel discussion of local voices: Dominique Nok - photographer and curator; Rob Lloyd - kickboxing coach, martial arts specialist and entrpreuneur; Eyi Temi - Singer/songwiter each with a very different story to tell. There will also be a live peromnce and refreshments.

Hear about journeys that have crossed countries and cultures, businesses built from the ground up, creative careers forged in unexpected ways and the importance of giving back and creating opportunities.

At the heart of the conversation is one simple question:

What does community mean to you - and how has it shaped the person you are today?

Whether you are an entrepreneur, creative, professional, community leader, young person - or simply interested in hearing from people within our community - we look forward to seeing you there.

Come for the stories. Stay for the conversation and connections.
