This Halloween, step inside Horace Walpole’s “little Gothic castle”, where The Castle of Otranto, the first Gothic novel, was born from a nightmare.

The season begins with Halloween Bat Walks 7 & 9 October. Explore the grounds at twilight with local conservation experts and use bat detectors to listen for pipistrelles and other nocturnal visitors.
