About
Immerse yourself in a guided sound installation. Step into the boat-like hammocks suspended in trees and lie down. Created by artist Tania El Khoury, and a trauma therapist, this work explores political violence that is both literally and figuratively buried in contested lands.
Memory of Birds explores these ideas through the theme of migrating birds. Lying in your hammock you'll listen to Khoury's important artwork and maybe notice the birds.
Tania El Khoury creates interactive installations and performances. Her work reflects on the production of collective memory and the cultivation of solidarity. This project is brought to Richmond Arts and Ideas Festival through our partnership with Shubbak Festival.
