Stomp, splash and squelch with our mud-tastic February half-term. 14 - 22 February Grab your wellies and get stuck in with Mudfest - where messy means fun, right here at the wetlands! Get ready to dive into the muddy magic of our wetlands! Mud isn't just messy - it's marvellous. It's the stuff our super-powered wetlands and great family adventures are made of. For one week only this February half term, embrace the mess and discover just how brilliant mud can be with hands-on activities. When: February 14 to February 22, 2026 Time: Daily from 10 am - 4 pm Price: Included in your entry ticket / Free for WWT Members Booking Info: No Booking required. Save 10% by booking entry tickets online. The activity line-up All day: Mud kitchen Open all day long, come and cook up a storm with our special mud kitchen equipment. All day: Mud art Use mud to paint, shape and create your own pieces of wetland art. All day: Brilliant beaks Get up close to the fascinating beaks of our wetland birds and see how some are adapted to sift through the mud. 10.30-11.00 Nest building Learn how birds use mud to make their nest by building your own. 11.30-12.30 Make a Mud tree guardian Create your own forest guardian using natural materials. 14.30-15.30 Seed bomb making Make seed bombs out of earth and wildflower seeds to decorate a green space for the coming spring. We will also have mud and spoon races, wormery displays and more!
