Bloomsbury Baroque contributes music by Ignatius Sancho and Joseph Bologne to Black History Month, along with incidental suites by Paisible (Oroonoko) and Henry Purcell (The Indian Queen) and songs by Purcell/Courteville (Oroonoko).
The first two composers were black men of letters as well as composers; the other three were composers writing for works set beyond Europe.
