NPL - How long is a piece of String? Live

About

Join us on Thursday 6 March at the National Physical Laboratory for How long is a piece of string LIVE – the first in our series of live science talks this year.

Find out how measurement science is helping us detect rugby injuries, row faster and run longer and more efficiently.

On the night, you'll hear from experts working in temperature and humidity science, quantum technology and data as they delve deep into the physics and forces involved in some of our favourite sporting events.

You'll also get to interact with some cool props, and get a look at our exciting demonstrations of each of the SI units of measurement – showing you the importance of measurement standards in the UK, and learning about how NPL upkeeps these.

You can have a go at mastering our Dolls of Confusion too – a mind-bending game of intuition versus reality.

Where: National Physical Laboratory, Bushy Road, Teddington TW11 0EQ.

Arrive from 18.30 with the talks starting at 19:00 – 21.00
