About
Poet, comic, singer, songwriter and glasses-wearer John Hegley has captivated and audiences in theatres and clubs, a lot of Edinburgh Festivals and many appearances on radio and television. This show demonstrates the breadth of his appeal, with seriously funny, cleverly comic poems and songs on love, family, France, French family, art, the sea, dogs, horses and potatoes.
Audiences are invited to sing and in places, to gesticulate; the Observer commented 'Hegley is to potatoes what Wordsworth has been to daffodils' although there is more about Keats than Wordsworth in the show, which was described recently by an audience member as 'fun and tender'. It is designed for adults but is not unsuitable for the odd nine-year-old.
