About

Get set for festive cheer aplenty! Father Christmas and his trusty elves will be visiting Ham House this December. Step inside our enchanting Christmas grotto to meet Father Christmas and tell him what’s on your wish list for the big day. Capture the moment with a photo and receive a gift to take home as a memento of your visit.

Our Father Christmas event will run during the first two weekends in December (Sat 2 and Sun 3; Sat 9 and Sun 10) and then each day from Saturday 16 December to Saturday 23 December 2023. This event is popular and likely to sell out – so book soon to avoid disappointment! If your child has any special requirements, please get in touch with us and we'll be happy to discuss how we can best facilitate your visit.

To help you plan your festive day out, please also note: Non-National Trust members will need to pay normal admission on arrival at Ham House and Garden, in addition to the pre-paid cost to meet Father Christmas. One ticket required per child, with a maximum of two accompanying adults. We will be operating our winter opening hours during this event so the house will close at 3pm (last entry at 2.30pm); gardens will close at 4pm. The café and shop will close at 3.30pm. There may be a short wait hosted by Father Christmas’s friendly elves during the 15-minute timeslot.

Please note, last entry to Ham House will be at 3.30, and the gates will close at 4.00.
